Xian

Xian (11 – 13 September 2004)

The arrival at the hotel was very impressive. In the space located at the back of the lobby of the hotel there was a gigantic statue you could only see inside the hotel (see the photo-album for the pictures, because it’s impossible to describe). After checking in we made a walk through the streets of Xian. Here we saw sales-men that sold their goods and food on the street. Furthermore, we went to a Mosque (Great Mosque).

After the walk we visited a restaurant, where we had to make clear that as vegetarians, we did not want to eat meat or fish, with the help of pictorial diagram with a smiley for vegetables, we succeeded and had a very good diner.

Next day we visited Banpo Bowuguan (a prehistoric site), we visited the famous Terracotta Army and went to the Royal garden. In the evening we saw a performance at the Grand Opera House.
